Debian Linux | How to remove apt respository sources?

If you have added some package repository sources with add-apt-repository you may want to remove them after removing the packages installed using this extra sources. Another approach is that you want to change this repositories to make another build branch available.

Normally you would find the reference to this package repositories listed inside the /etc/apt/sources.list . If they are not listed there but updated every apt-get update call this sources my be listed as separate file inside the /etc/apt/sources.list.d  directory.

Ther is also a user interface based way to change this sources. Synaptics provides a GUI, so you can also 'pin' a package so it won't be changed on updates, even if there is one available.

I hope his helps you!
